He was quickly usher from the examination room for the next hopeful coming in. A young human warden lead him to where the archangel eggs spanned the tables in rows. He blinked, his brow furrowing in confusion as he turned and looked down at the warden before him. " What the hell am I to do here? Flit around like a fairy on Chak, poking the eggs?" The warden sighed " No, usually some physical contact helps but your bonded will find you one way or another, if you need anything else just flag down a warden, I'll leave you to it." Alistar snorted and turned back to the tables in question. " Well here goes nothing."
He had been at ease in the examination room but now his stomach churned. He wasn't good with relationships, even with his family he knew he push to far sometimes, but in was far to ingrained for him to find a trigger in someone to stop now. If he found his andzkin would they be a good match? This was someone he was going to have to spend the rest of his life with. What if they didn't mesh? Gently he picked each egg noting the weight and speckling before putting it back exactly how it had been.
Halfway through the section he was beginning to wonder if his bonded was even an archangel, it wasn't unheard of for a student to have a dragon of a different class. Absentmindedly, he picked up another egg, only to have a wave of possessiveness overtake him. Warmth rushed through him, dispelling the knot of tension in his gut as he sat down in the floor, his back pressed up against one of the table legs, cradling the egg against his body.
He found himself crooning encouragement to the being within. " Come now little one, I know you can do it! I can't wait to meet you and experience all the adventures we're going to have." A genuine smile spread across his features as he waiting, he was giddy, wonderment had replaced the tension within him.

Waiting in an egg was frankly, excruciating. Of course, it was the fate of some dragons to wait for their andzkin to show up. She just hated that she was one of them. Vallencia had already given up trying to recollect how long she had been here; wardens didn’t really care enough to give her a record and that sleeping magic they were dosed with between exam periods really did a number on remembering little details. There was only so much time she could spend imagining all the ways her life could go.
Somehow, there was something more anxiety inducing about this round of exams. The archangel couldn’t be sure of what was making her uneasy but as per usual she occupied herself with listening to whatever conversations she could catch and trying to remember the days so she could know when she’d be set back to sleep. But maybe this time was different. After 5 or so days, she felt something shift in the air. Dramatically. Did something happen to the nursery? No, the drop was in her own body temperature. She felt like all of her energy was being drawn out and into her shell. Should she headbutt it? Could she? It still felt weak until a blanket of warmth covered her egg and the crystalline structure starting quivering with a concentration of magic she certainly had never felt before. This was it.
Vallencia found herself surrounded by a warmth already. However she forgot initial contact was far from comforting. A moment found her overwhelming with a burning in her head, skin and scales prickling as what she’d know as a rune emblazoning itself on her forehead while a physically painful wave of memories crashed through her hatchling brain. There was so much to take in, she was sure she’d nearly pass out. But it subsided as these things do and she was left breathing slowly in the arms of her apparent soulmate.
"Um, do you have magic?"
