this is gospel for the fallen ones
At just a look, no one would really assume Balthazar to be the class head. It takes walking up to him to feel the air that he’s much older than his teenage body betrays. He stands at 6’1” and lanky, though the wings give him a stature unlike most others. Balthazar has soft, tanned skin that’s marred with scars over the majority of his body. The ones on his face are mostly faint traces, but the rest weren’t so convenient. His eyes are a piercing red and frankly unsettling to look at for too long. He owns brown contacts, but the red beneath doesn’t really go away and instead leaves him with maroonish eyes. For the most part he forgets to wear them, only remembering when an unfamiliar student shies away from his gaze. If someone could maintain eye contact, they would see that his eyes generally are quite soft and expressive. They don’t light up with emotions the way some people’s do, but there’s always a mild reflection of thoughtfulness.
Balthazar keeps his dark brown hair trimmed right at the nape of his neck. It’s surprisingly well kept, always soft and brushed back. He cuts his hair himself so sometimes the back is a little uneven, but he corrects it the next time around. In his office, he uses a hairband to keep it out of his face, but he has made sure no one in the academy has seen it. The demon keeps his facial hair to light stubble, if it ever grows out past that it’s safe to say he’s in the midst of an episode.
Balthazar’s wings are truly something to behold. They are incredibly large, spanning nearly 22 feet, but he usually keeps them folded behind him. His wings are made thin leathery skin, like a bat's and pitch black. While he can fly with them, the wingspan is too much of a hassle so his main method of transportation is teleportation. Upon closer inspection, his wings also have numerous piercings that have scarred and since closed. There were about 16 between the two wings at one point in his life. It’s a point he’d rather forget; each one is just another mistake to him. When asked about them, he usually just laughs and leaves it with a “wouldn’t you like to know” for the particularly persistent ones. Thankfully the piercings in his eyebrow and the six in each ear didn’t scar nearly as much, so most people don’t notice.
While Balthazar used to be left-handed, he thankfully trained himself to be ambi-dexterous. During the war, he had a particularly bad fight with another demon whose interdimensional magic damaged Balthazar’s left arm and wing. They are both mangled, and while they can move, they no longer can perform precise actions.
He dresses semi-formal, with slacks and waistcoats to make him look more his age. Being frozen at nineteen makes it hard to garner respect from students as it is, so he has to use clothes to age him. Casual outfits like t-shirts and jeans are reserved solely for personal time and occasionally with other heads and mentors, since it makes him look like a kid.
